Just wanted to give you guys a quick update on how things are looking. Rivers on the coast are on the drop and there are a few rivers that have become fishable while others are about to be. That being said there are already fish being caught and the season is looking positive. Both hatcheries on the Russian have gotten fish back and Warm Springs has gotten 25% of the numbers back before Jan 1 than they had all of last year which is encouraging.
If you are interested in fishing with me you can call, text, or email. I will respond after I am off the water in the late afternoon/evening. I have very few dates left so don’t wait until it’s too late. We have some dry weather for the foreseen long term forecast so I anticipate we will have some options to fish for a bit. Hopefully the incoming storms for the remainder of the winter aren’t deluges as they have been the last couple of months.
Just want to say thank you to all those of you that are new that have booked with me and my return clients. I look forward to seeing all of you here in the coming days and all of guys I get to fish around every year. Tight lines!
Tip of the day: Steelhead aren’t critical thinkers, they either bite or they don’t. If you’re determined there’s fish in the run and they haven’t bit. Make a change to what you’re throwing. They will bite eventually. It may be something as the slightest color change, or even an entire bait/rig change. Have an arsenal for every kind of water; High, low, clear, colored, shallow, deep, fast, slow.
